TREK has been awarded the preparation of the Operational Strategic Plan (OP) for the Evia Region, Central Greece, with beneficiary the Association of Local Municipalities. Furthermore, TREK has been awarded the drafting of the OP for the Prefecture of Evia. Both Plans refer to the 4th Framework 2007-2013.
The Local Union of Municipalities and Communities of Evia (TEDKE) in order to attaint Operational Readiness, for its members, for the Programme Period 2007-2013, has proceeded to the elaboration of an Operational Plan.
The OP of TEDKE is in line with the Strategic View of the OP of Evia which is summarized as follow; Sustainable Development of Natural and Human Environment in a prefecture - model of Tourism (massive and alternative), which ensures accessibility to all its nodal areas. To this scope, the Municipalities have suggested a series of mature projects that offer additional value to wider geographic areas and have internal cohesion with projects of Evia's OP.
Furthermore the OP intends to promote the harmonious, balanced and sustainable development with respect to the environment and an enhancement of the tourism. It is an OP measured and planned to cope with the needs of the municipalities and the priorities of the OP. The projects are financed by the ROP of Sterea Ellada, the Programme of Agricultural Development and the Programme for the Development of Fisheries.
The Operational Plan of the Prefecture of Evia lays down the framework and the Strategy that has been decided for the next Programme Period 2007 - 2013. The OP is a technical tool that ensures a reliable and realistic planning of projects and the preparation of the prefectural authority and local actors for the procedures and actions in order to realize the projects in the best terms.
The Strategy described in the OP, aims at the Sustainable Development of Natural and Human Environment in a prefecture - model of Tourism (massive and alternative), which ensures accessibility to all its nodal areas. The strategic vision is further analyzed to Priority Axis, Interventions and Projects which the Prefecture of Evia has decided after a public consultation with all involved local actors.
In parallel, the OP of the Prefecture of Evia studies and suggests a series of financially well balanced projects, that serve the strategic view of the region and enhance the regional competitiveness and cohesion. To this scope a small and flexible Integrated Programme of Rural Evia has been included.
The OP of Evia includes projects that are financed by the Regional Operational Plan (ROP) of Sterea Ellada, by Sectoral OP, like the Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship, the Development of Human Resources, the Programme for the Agricultural Development and the Programme for the Development of Fisheries.
