Energy Project Development & Finance for South Aegean Islands

TREK Development to design and structure energy efficiency measures for the Region of South Aegean, GR. Scope of work is from project concept and analysis of energy Infrastructure Projects, to structure Financing, as an initial stage to construct and operate a multi-dimensional RES and Energy efficiency set of discrete projects.

The Region of South Aegean is at the Southeastern part of Europe, consisting of hundreds of small and mid-size islands. Well known as one of the best touristic attractions of the Mediterannean, with iconic sites such as Myconos, Santorini, Rhodes, Kos, Andros, and many other sea-jewels consisting the constellation of Cyclades & Dodecanese. However, lack of efficient and modern energy infrastructure facilities, is of the most important obstacle towards sustainable development. Isolation from main land, scarce climatic conditions, innefficient Power interconnectivity among islands and old fashion lighting system are among the main issues TREK has been engaged to tackle with.

Within the scope of a large scale Project Development & Finance scheme, TREK is to formulate a concept program for energy efficiency and use of Renewable Energy Systems, by performing cost benefit-analysis and classification of different energy ready-projects, such as LED lighting replacement, smart transport systems, retrofitting of Public use buildings and assessment of alternative Power sources such as Hydro-Power facilities.

Following, TREK is to assess an initial financial structure for the above investments and engage different source of funding, for the creation of a best fit financial blending.
