Following tender procedures, TREK to design and structure Infrastructure energy efficiency & RES for the Region of Crete, GR. Scope of work ranges from project concept and analysis of energy Infrastructure & Services Projects, to structure Financing, as an initial stage to construct and operate a multi-dimensional RES and Energy efficiency set of discrete project
The Region of Crete is a unique, diverse full of resources land, but for energy!
Local population, along with millions of tourists visiting the island and the need to operate numerous diverse industries ranging form agricultural sector to high tech industries require plenty and un-interrupted energy resourses. Moreover, landscape and the need for mobility across the island accounts for reliable, eco-friendly mass transport systems, at local and regional level.
TREK has been assigned the task to identify and measure those needs in energy and propose a Master Plan for Energy efficiency and utilization of Reneable Energy sources at the disposal of the local community and Industry.
Further, TREK to desgn a Financial model and propose the best-fit sources of financing. It is expected that the project will be at the range of 70-120 MEUR consisting of the following interventions:
1. Urban and rural street lighting upgrade, across the Island
2. Energy efficiency infrastructure for major and energy consuming Public buildings (Regional Hospitals, Government facilities, etc)
3. Smart and eco-friendly transport systems
4. Renewable Energy Infrastructures
The project has a duration of 5 months and the expected outcome is to mature numerous energy projects and design a feasible and bankable financial model for their nfrastrure implementation.
