TREK Consulting is founded by Thomas and Dinos Papapolyzos in Athens, Greece. Initial orientation was on emerging information and communication technologies (ICT), at their early stage of development, and on their role in improving business performance. Pioneering in ICT, the company is the first to design and apply integrated solutions for B2B eCommerce, Internet auctions and other innovative services to large Greek companies and organizations, with impressive results and substantial impact on the latter’s performance and cost savings.
Strategy and Operations Management business lines start to grow within the company. TREK Consulting undertakes important projects for Greek Ministries, EU Institutions, and private companies which emphasise the cornerstones of any business: the existence of a strategic plan with clearly defined mission, vision and goals, and the need for well- designed processes.
The first subsidiary of the company is established in Northern Greece, Thessalonica. Its main expertise initially is regional development, as well as interregional and cross-border cooperation between Greek and Central and Eastern European authorities. Currently the company offers the same full set of services as the mother company in Athens.
Marketing & Communications Management consulting services are further developed so that they constitute a discrete business line. TREK Consulting offers such services to large telecom operators in Greece and the Balkans, as well as to other industries and governmental bodies.
The company is rapidly growing and expanding its activities in the Balkans and to other regions of Greece. A branch is established in Central Greece along with offices in Serbia (Belgrade), Bulgaria (Sofia) and Cyprus (Limassol). At the same year, TREK Consulting acquires and merges the affiliated company (so far subsidiary), HYPERTECH SA, active in the field of Information Technologies and Innovation.
TREK is among the top-5 Greek Consulting companies, having the largest increase in terms of visibility and growth ratio.
At the beginning of this year, TREK acquires 50% of HYPERTECH shares from OMIKRON Group/DDB Advertising Athens, and is now the sole owner of the leading Enterprise Content Management & IT company. For the year 2005 HYPERTECH SA shows EBIDTA profit of 850 KEUR.
In late spring 2006 TREK buys land to develop its brand-new office premises. The location is alongside the Attiki Odos Motorway, near the Kifissias Ave interchange, in Maroussi, Athens.
New offices are established in Sarajevo and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Mid-term plans include further geographic expansion to other Central and Eastern European countries, as well as in Belgium (Brussels).
Record high in revenues and profits. Revenues at 6,25 MEUR, profits at 1,2 MEUR (EBIDTA) and profits before taxes 1,03 MEUR, according to IAS. TREK moves in brand new premises of 1.000 m2 office space, fully owned and operated by the company.
TREK expands its services and activities in the Middle East with development projects in Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon.
TREK Group opens office in Munich, DE.
As of 2018, TREK to initiate and support the largest portfolio of Energy Efficiency - Infrastructure Projects all across Greece.
TREK designs and delivers emblematic pan-European and national projects on branding and destination management, promotion of cultural heritage and tourism.
In strategic alliance with UEFA, TREK visualizes, coordinates and implements international projects in the sports sector, with focus on gender mainstreaming and capacity building for national football associations in Europe and Middle East.
