Energy Policy & Infrastructures in the Region of Western Macedonia
TREK to work as master Technical Advisor for Energy Policies, Development actions and Infrastructures for the Region of Western Macedonia, Greece. The plan is to bring together all the Region's 13 municipalities, along with the local University, under the umbrella of the Regional Authority. The goal is to create an Energy Community acting as the driving force for the just transition (from lignite to clean energy) in the Region.TREK (Project Development & Finanace Unit) to manage, as Prime Technical Advisor, Strategic Energy Policies & Infrastructures for the Region of Western Macedonia along with Region's Municipalities.
National and European spotlight focus on the Region's just transition, since lignite as energy source for the whole country is -up to date- the driving booster for the local economy.
Some 3-4 billion EUR measures to be deployed by National and EU funds within the next decade for transforming coal economy to diverse and sustainable transition.
Regional community, led by the Region of Western Macedonia, envisages to become the key player to this transition.
TREK work, consist from legal and legislative advice for the Energy Communities creation and running, up to Strategic & Operational roadmap and action planning for the participation of the Region to the state of play in the just transition of the Region.
